China Garden Han Gong: Experience Authentic Cantonese Dim Sum in Rockville

Great for weddings and other major events. Prices are okay if you're going there for dim sum. The teas they offer are really cheap as in taste that is. It's not great or Eve good teas. The dinner menu is expensive and the MP are usually way too high for fishes. The service is okay. Not super great and that is expected for Chinese restaurants. The inside decor is okay.

Just attended AALead's (look them up!) Annual Dinner and had a wedding reception-styled 10-course dinner! The service was great and the restaurant was accommodating in hosting a large event. They even have a stage and area to dance. The star dish was not the surf side of the twin lobsters, but the turf side of the Filet Mignon (China Garden Style) - flavors were nice and a tad sweet but not overpowering, I can't pinpoint the flavor but reminds me of a bit of maybe the Iron Age steak (Korean bbq)? Overall the food was pretty solid, maybe a 4 with some misses with the flavor or a bit overcooked but it's also a bit expected for such a large event. They have their own surface parking lot across the street which they validate, not the garage parking tho that's free for 2 hours. I have to upgrade my rating, almost want to give them a 5 because any friend sponsors of AALead and giving back to the community deserves some praise, but I'll give them a one star upgrade to a solid 4!

Great DimSum all around. Everything is always fresh and delicious. the servers are always friendly, and check up on you often. It can be a little noise when it's busy, but it still provides a great atmosphere. The Young Chow fried rice is a must order! The roasted pig is also so perfectly done every time. This place has one of the best wonton soups IMHO, simple and delicious. The only reason I do not give it a 5 star is because of the timing of the food. Sometimes, the larger dishes can take a while to come out while the dimsum comes out much faster.

$136 for four adults and two children is what I'd call a pretty good lunch. We had the usual picks: chicken feet, shrimp shumai, pork buns, pork ribs, red bean pastry, pork char siu, veggies, and a couple of others. The food in general was good. I wouldn't say the dim sums would blow your mind away but they would satisfy your dim sum cravings. The environment is definitely loud. If you want a relaxing or quiet place to eat, then please avoid this restaurant. The service was great. The waiters were always around with the carts which meant that the dim sums were always fresh.

We ordered more than 10 dim sum dishes off the traditional push carts and shared them amongst 4 people. It was absolutely delicious and worth the long drive over from Washington DC. They open earlier than weekdays at 11am during weekends so you have to come early as they don't accept resa fb aidons but only walk ins. They even offer free parking that is literally opposite the restaurant (remember to validate your parking ticket!). Second time back here and I'll definitely be back again!

I'd consider this place to be one of the top dim sum restaurants in the DMV. There always seems to be a crowd waiting on Sunday around brunch time, despite how large and how much seating there is inside the restaurant. In terms of service, the servers are very quick and attentive. The carts come around frequently so every couple minutes you'll have new dishes presented to your table. My favorites include shumai, steamed shrimp crepes, and the congee. Food is always served hot as they come in the carts and you can order other dishes off the menu. One of the unique dim sum dishes you definitely have to try out is the purple golden yolk bun, it is sweet with a slightly savory and salty inside. There is parking available at a lot across the street. It says it costs $7, but you can get it validated at the restaurant. Overall, this place is well worth making the drive from Virginia to Maryland.

Best dimsum in the area! Usually it's a bit hard to order dimsum because we don't speak the language, but here, the servers are so nice and it's very easy to order what we want. Our favorites include Shumai, Har Gow, shrimp crepe, deep fried pork and sesame balls for dessert. Get the rice wrapped in lotus leaf if you want some rice too. The place is big but always packed on the weekends, so be prepared to wait or come at an off time (especially with a big group). We came Sunday 1pm and waited about 10-15min for two people. The place was emptied by the time we left around 2:15. We'll certainly come back!

8.1.23 Love that this restaurant has patrons select items off the dim sum menu versus pushing around the cart so the food can stay hot. Food came out fast and everything I ordered was delicious. I ordered five "tapas" and was only able to eat half. I brought the leftovers to have for lunch tomorrow. Our server was fine, but didn't really check on us once the food was brought out to us. My friend had to flag him down to ask for our tab and boxes. Parking is available in the lot across the street, which says $7 and can be validated. I did not know and we parked in the garage, which is free for the first two hours. The garage on level 2 looked sketchy. Carts are abandoned there and it looked creepy. I would not feel safe parking there at night even though it's in Bethesda. This may just be my new fav dim sum spot in Maryland. Just wish their dim sum menu was more extensive.
